In the next Senedd election, your vote will be used in a very different way. The system is changing, and it risks giving even more power to Labour and Plaid Cymru. Wales has had the same Labour Government for over 25 years, propped up by Plaid Cymru and the Liberal Democrats. Now is the time to change Wales for better.
Why Your Vote Matters More Than Ever
In the next Senedd election taking place in May 2026, Wales is moving towards a 'closed proportional list system.'
- Voters aged 16 and over will cast their ballot for a political party, not for an individual candidate.
- Seats in the Senedd will then be shared out according to each party's vote.
- If a party secures enough votes, it will gain one or more seats.
These changes mean it is vital to back a party with strong, trusted local champions. A vote for the Welsh Conservatives is a vote for Paul Davies and Samuel Kurtz, proven voices for your community how will continue to put you first.
Bigger Constituencies - Diluted Voices
The number of constituencies in Wales is being reduced from 40 to 16. Each constituency will elect 6 Members of the Senedd instead of just 1. You will be in the Ceredigion Penfro constituency which is formed of the UK Parliamentary constituencies of Ceredigion Preseli and Mid and South Pembrokeshire.
More Politicians - More Cost
The Senedd is expanding from 60 to 90 members. That's 36 more politicians, and millions more in taxpayer spending, while public services still struggle.
These reforms were pushed through my Labour and Plaid without giving the people a say: no referendum, no consent. The Liberal Democrats and Reform both welcome this increase in politicians. Only the Welsh Conservatives voted against it.
